CHILD KING FOUNDATION FAQS Q: Who is eligible for a Child King Foundation (CKF) grant?A: Any organization, charity or individual that advocates for those with intellectual disabilities may apply. Q: Where do Child King Foundation funds originate? A: All producer's profits from the sale of the DVD and all profits from the sale of The Child King related merchandise comprise 100% of CKF funds. Q: How are grants decided? A: Grants are decided through an application and review process. CKF grant applications are reviewed by The Foundation's awards committee. Q: How long does the review process take? A: The process varies depending on the amount of information the committee requires before making a determination on an eligible grant applicant. Q: I am planning to start a business or organization relevant to intellectual disabilities, can I apply for seed funding? A: Absolutely. Q: I do not have non-profit status. Can I still apply for a CKF grant? A: Yes. As long as you, or your organization, advocates for those with intellectual disabilities, you are eligible to apply. Q: I have an intellectual disability or I am the custodian of an intellectually disabled individual and require financial assistance. Can I apply? A: It depends. Except in extreme emergencies (which are considered on a case-by-case basis) CKF grants are not intended for cost-of-living expenses. However, if the funds will be of direct benefit to an individual with disabilities (i.e.: helping with tuition for a relevant program) then you are welcome to apply. Q: I was awarded a CKF grant but now require additional funds. Is there a limit to the number of times I can apply? A: Applicants receiving CKF grants may reapply, but not in the same calendar year in which a grant was previously awarded. Q: If I've been turned down for a CKF grant can I reapply? A: Yes, you are welcome to reapply, although it may be to your advantage if the new proposal is substantially modified from the one previously denied. Q: I've applied for a CKF grant. Now what? A: Wait to hear from us. If your application is denied, we will contact you and explain why. If your application is reviewed by the awards committee and deemed a funding candidate, chances are you will be asked for additional information so an informed grant decision can be made. Q: I would like to make a charitable contribution to the CKF fund, is that possible? A: While we thank you for the kind offer, the CKF does not accept funds from sources outside The Foundation. Soliciting and/or accepting charitable contributions would put the CKF in competition with the very organizations it assists. If you wish to donate, a list of worthy candidates can be found "HERE". |
